Why I Don't Post About Not Posting

Except for today.

The thing I don't like about NaBloPoMo and NaNoWriMo is that it's not a level playing field. I'm a Libra, so I like balance and justice and fairness, and these are not fair competitions.

Don't underestimate the actual time and physical or mental energy required to write 1,667 daily words of a novel, or a daily post of any given length (I'm sure there used to be requirements but this NaBlo is not officially organized anymore). Obtaining that time and energy is much easier for some than it is for others.

Your family might exhaust you, your job might exhaust you, your body might just say "nope, we're done for today". You might have depression, ADHD, chronic fatigue, or fibromyalgia, and your body decides you've given all you had just to get through the day. You are out of spoons.

And that's ok. If you get up the next day and you're still not in it, that's also ok. People, including myself, often say tomorrow is a new day, everything will be fine tomorrow, just sleep it off. While that sometimes works, one night of sleep is not a cure all. It may take more than one day to replenish your energy supply or get your creative juices going again.

So, these 'competitions' or projects (like a daily photo) don't usually go well for me. Days are SO varied and unpredictable. The best we can all do is try and try again. Because, forget it Yoda. There IS a try.
